How do I make payments to my Tesco Credit Card account?
There are a number of ways you can make payments to your account:
1. Online Banking
By registering with Tesco Bank Online Banking you can make debit card payments to your account or set up a Direct Debit simply and at a time which suits you.
To register visit www.tescobank.com and choose ‘Credit Cards’ and ‘Register’ from the Online Banking menu on screen. We’ll guide you through the process but if you’d like some help getting started you can view our Registration demo which shows you a step-by-step guide of how to register.
Once you’ve logged in, if you see the Online Banking Overview page, select ‘Manage Account' to navigate to your Credit Card Overview page. Some customers will arrive directly on the Credit Card Overview page.
From the Credit Card Overview page you’ll see some options on the left hand side. Choose ‘Make a Payment’ and you’ll be given two options:
- Make a debit card payment
- This allows you to make a one-off payment using your debit card. We’ll also remember your debit card details for the next time you login to help speed up any future payments.
- Set up and manage your Direct Debit
- You can set up a Direct Debit so that your payments are made automatically each month. You’ll be asked to enter the sort code and account number of the account you want the Direct Debit to come from. You can set up your Direct Debit to pay the minimum payment, your last statement balance or a fixed amount of your choice.
2. Transferring Money from another bank account
You can transfer money from another bank account by using that bank’s online or telephone banking service, or at one of their branches. You will need to send the payment to:
Sort code: 400250
Account number: 31316044
Please use your 16 digit credit card number as the reference for the payment and make sure the number is entered without any spaces or dashes. If you don’t enter your credit card number as a reference we may not be able to apply the payment to your account and may return it to your bank.
3. Automated Telephone Banking
You can call our secure automated payment service on 0845 300 4278 and select option 2 from the main menu to make a payment from your debit card.
You will be asked to input your 16 digit credit card number and if you are the primary card holder you will also need to answer some security questions, so please have this information ready when you call.
Once you have passed security you should select option 2 from the menu and specify how much you want to pay in pounds and pence. At this stage you will also need to enter details from the debit card you want to make a payment from.
4. Bank Giro
A Bank Giro Credit Slip is attached to your monthly statements. You can use this slip to make a cheque payment at a bank or send a cheque by post.
We recommend you allow 4 full working days if you use the Bank Giro Credit Slip at your bank to make a cheque payment. You should check with your bank exactly how long it will take for the payment to reach us. Please note, the bank may charge you for this service
If you would like to send a cheque by post, you should complete and return the Bank Giro Credit slip with your payment. Please allow 5 – 7 days for your payment to reach us and it will take another 4 working days before the cheque funds are cleared in your account.
